Wow, George. I hope this isn't too simple of a comment, but the tire photograph is outstanding for me simply because of the sense of blackness it conveys.
Of course I have seen photos with more or darker blacks, but never have I had this feeling of a complete lack of colour. Eventhough the picture is really mostly gray, I think because I know a tire should be black that my perception of the image is shifted.
