Musings on photography, the art of creating images, technical talk, useful tips, rants and ravings of a published photographer of 40+ years experience.
Nice machine shop images, I like them, love the image with the chain in a earlier post....they are getting harder to find, one place I found in the Lower mainland of BC was asking $100 an hour to shoot with a min of two hours.......I would have loved to shoot but.... I'm on a beer budget.
Really like some of the photos. I've tried to shoot things like this but I alway miss by little. I don't mean to hi-jack the comments, but are there any books or videos that can help "hit the target"? I have collected many example of industrial still life and even tried to replicate some. Almost.
My local photography group has a trolly barn shoot on the calander and I would like to take away at least one good photo....
At this point in time, there isn't a book that addresses your issues specifically. There are a series of books by the photographer Freeman Patterson that deal with 'the art of seeing' and I have a book in production which should see the light of day early in the new year.
Re videos that would help, you might consider some of the Luminous Landscape videos as many of the issues do have a shooting session and you can get a bit of an idea of the working the scene done by experienced photographers.

I'm sensing a new Lenswork portfolio emerging here somewhere ;-) Keep'em coming; fascinating, and fascinatingly rich!, stuff!

Thank you.
I've been looking forward to your book since you've wrote about it.
Heading over LL after my breakfast and blogs...
