I Have The Book

My advance copy of the book has arrived. The paper is thinner than I'd like, the black and white images a bit too selenium, but damn it's a nice book. You might even find my writing interesting.

Amazon.com has a 'look inside' of the first two chapters.

It should be in book shops in about three weeks and is orderable now.

Congratulations! Can't wait to get my copy. Looks like a fine homage to, and modern day step beyond, Szarkowski's older book. Looks gorgeously produced to, from the meta-pictures ;-) Kudos George!

Hello Again,
I have been just informed by Amazon that my order is deferred. This is certainly bad news for me but may well be good news for you. I hope it turns out to be a case of supply not matching the demand :)
Bulent.

My two copies were flown over in the luggage of our publisher. The real shipment of book is likely to take two weeks, then another week to be shipped around north america.

I would anticipate you will get it the first week in December.

George -- Congratulations! We are all anxious to see what you have to say. I, too, received an e-mail from Amazon this morning (Nov 16) stating that delivery of my pre-order copy of your new book has been delayed. When I originally ordered in mid-October, anticipated delivery was Dec 3-8. Today's update forecasts Jan 4-10. I truly hope Amazon is wrong and that you see some very good Holiday sales. Frank

I am about half way through your book and find it an excellent read. It discusses the images in a degree of depth that I rarely see elsewhere and makes the reader take their own thinking just one important step further. That important step that makes so much difference in the development of their our own thinking and "photographic eye".

I have been so impressed that I have bought two copies of the book and am offering one book as a prize to a group of student members of the photography club that I belong Great Notley Photography Club www.gnpc.co.uk.

I am sure that the winning student will find it as fascinating read as I have.
