Stream Bottom
Another mud abstract from Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta. A small stream separated me from the cliffs I wanted to photograph and in the effort of finding a place I could jump across, I found this detail in the stream bottom. A few tufts of grass were sticking out of the mud/sand and were removed with the cloning tool. Cheating? Sure. Do I care? No.

I don't consider it to be "cheating" to remove bits of dust, dirt, detritus, dung, or dead grass, etc., to improve a composition. It would be different if you were strictly a documentary photographer, where your audience expects 100% veracity. (Perhaps somehwere in your bio is a "mission statement" where you swear to print only what you saw. If so, my bad.)
