Of the two jeans photos, I find this one, for me, more effectively says folds, patterns, shadows and abstraction. I think this is because it is closer to the subject and excludes the surrounding floor. I think this one is much more about what this subject is "about". Wellll, and this is about in camera cropping too.

This isn't actually cropped - it's three images stitched with the 90 ts-e (though I could just have easily used an ordinary lens and swung it).
