Prague

Sadly I don't have vast experience of the most beautiful cities in the world, but none the less Prague was absolutely wonderful - with literally miles of preserved buildings and narrow alleyways, attractive buildings, cobblestone streets, the river and the hills. We were only there for three days and have already promised ourselves to come back to Prague at the first opportunity.

Heading there in a couple weeks to meet up with family for sightseeing. Any photographic tips or places on the must-see list? I really have no idea of what to expect other than the buildings (family picked the city, I'm just following the crowd!)

There is so much to see, simply wandering around randomly (with a map so you can get home again (with luck)), is probably the best bet. I walked from our hotel in the old town to the castle and back, casually strolling and it took a few hours as I checked things out. Keep in mind the new town was built 50 years after the old town which means 1350 instead of 1300 AD.

I found Prague to be amazing for photography (I went in August). I was there for a week rather than 3 days, and loved the photographic opportunities.
