I would never normally think to include the plastic lid of a garbage can, but this image is about shapes and colour and hey, the colour was right.

Just my 2 cents, but I don't really like the lid in the picture. Seems discordant to me even if the color is right. The shape is out of wack with everything else I feel. Hindsight is 20/20 of course. I can't tell you how many times I had wished I had the insight to change something before taking the picture. Picture's still very nice though.
Looking back on it now I don't know if the picture would be as punchy without the lid. Would have to see a picture without it to know for sure.
