Being Ruthless



I think I prefer the close up image better - I really wanted to include those steel sheets but in doing so the main subject, the corrosion patterns on the boiler end lose out by being too small.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how clever your idea, if it weakens your original idea, then you can't have both. We need to be ruthless in our paring of anything that distracts from the reason we took the picture in the first place.

I agree. The close up shows more of the colours. Did you try a macro or abstract close up also?

I'm pretty OCD myself but, "the corrosion patterns". Get a grip. Pull yourself back from the brink before it's too late.

I like this setting much more, because the lower half corrosion looks like flames for me.

I actually prefer the pattern on the steel plates to this macro. Forget the pipes, just show the steel plate patterns :) Mike
