Ryuijie

This is in my opinion one of the preeminent photographers of the current era, producing lyrical images. His own website is a bit annoying with it's scrolling images and small enlargements but I had an annoucement from Verve Gallery today that Ryuijie has joined Verve and although the selection of his images is limited, you can actually see them. Do give it a good look.

I have two of his images hanging on my wall right in front of me now. They are sweet and beautiful.

I can't remember how I became aware of Ryuijie years ago but I think it was a photography magazine. I bought a small book of his work and it is one of my favorites to this day. I see that Lenswork currently has something about him in one of their extended additions.

His work is lyrical.

George,
You may be interested to know that we have a video tour of Ryuijie's darkroom and workspace coming up on LensWork EXTENDED #71 -- which is at the duplicator now. I agree, his work is fabulous!

I own one of Ryuijie's photo gravures that Lens Work issued a few years ago. I felt like I was stealing when I purchased it.

Dear George,

We have added an additional 40 images to Ryuijie section of our website this past week (a total of 52). At the moment, we are only showing his Platinum work, but that may change in the future.

Hope all is well and please stop by for a visit next time you are in Santa Fe.

Cheers,

His work is extraordinary. It was my pleasure in 1994 to have an image of his on a pamphlet of my poetry
(for more info on the poetry, peek at http://davidgitin.com). Recently, I saw some of the images that will be featured in his Santa Fe show in November (Verve). Viewers are in for a treat!
