Midday In The Forest

Arrived on Vancouver Island this morning and this afternoon stopped at Cathedral Grove - a preserved old grown forest with trees 12 feet in diameter, ferns below and decaying stumps lying around. It was midday and the sun was pouring through the canopy and for the most part made things way too contrasty - at one point I was exposing for 30 seconds at f16 - fortunately for a burned stump in the shade, but the sunlit ferns needed f16 at 1/60 - 11 stops difference.

My plan is to go back this evening if convenient to my wife or very early tomorrow morning before breakfast.

Cheers.
